Two new MiP modules with high-performance STM chipset

Innovation and versatility come together in these new MiP modules

When developing off grid IoT devices with the latest generation of sensors and prefer a compact enclosure, every millimeter and every milliwatt counts. In such designs, you need wireless modules that consume little energy, support multiple protocols and use a uniform footprint. This avoids repeated PCB redesigns and keeps your product scalable. For these types of applications, Mipot’s latest MiP modules are an excellent fit.

The two newest modules in the series combine an ultra‑compact design with a uniform footprint. This keeps hardware easily scalable, even when switching between protocols such as LoRa or LoRaWAN. The modules include native support for wM‑Bus and can operate in multi‑protocol environments, making them suitable for a wide range of IoT ecosystems. The STM chipset, available in single‑ and dual‑core variants, offers an optimal balance between processing power and energy efficiency.

Ideal for battery‑powered applications

The MiP series combines one of the smallest form factors for wM‑Bus modules with high performance and broad protocol support. This makes the modules suitable for products with limited PCB space or for designs that require extra room for power components or additional electronics. Their low energy consumption enables long‑lasting, low‑maintenance operation, making them ideal for battery‑powered devices such as gas, water and energy meters, environmental sensors and other low‑power applications within Industry 4.0 and smart metering.

The modules use FSK modulation and are equipped with an STM chipset. The single‑core variant features an ARM Cortex‑M4 embedded processor. The dual‑core version is a combination of an ARM Cortex‑M4 with an ARM Cortex‑M0+ and supports the new OMS 4 protocol. This gives developers extra flexibility for modern and secure smart‑metering designs and other applications with strict protocol requirements. Both modules are also CE‑certified, which simplifies integration into European IoT products.
