MAYA-W3 wireless modules for demanding industrial applications
The u-blox MAYA-W3 series spearheads the Wi-Fi 6/6E and Bluetooth LE 5.4 implementation in global industrial applications
The prediction is that almost half of the wireless short-range communication will use the Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 6E standard by 2028. The MAYA-W3 modules announced by u-blox seamlessly fit within this expectation. This series of Wi-Fi and dual-mode Bluetooth modules are globally certified, playing a crucial role in the worldwide adoption of Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E in IoT and IIoT applications.
Maintaining the same compact dimensions as previous MAYA modules simplifies the migration between old and new generations, allowing not only new, but also existing applications to benefit from improved network performance and the 6 GHz frequency.
Looking at the specifications of each individual module, it becomes clear that the series makes it easy to integrate superior wireless technology across a wide range of devices and scenarios. Additionally, Bluetooth LE Audio support makes these modules an interesting solution for applications where point-to-point voice communication and voice broadcasting is desirable.
The choice between single-band, dual-band, or tri-band modules provides developers with the freedom to meet the specified network and performance requirements of the application. Each model is available in a variant with antenna pins, U.FL connectors or a built-in PCB antenna. Furthermore, all modules have an LTE filter for parallel use with other wireless technologies.
The volume production of the MAYA-W3 modules is scheduled for the second half of this year. System developers in the Benelux who are interested in applying these modules can contact u-blox distributor Batenburg Applied Technologies for more information.
