Update on DDR and eMMC Availability and Transition from DDR4 to DDR5

DDR and eMMC Availability

We would like to inform our valued partners and customers that Samsung has recently issued End-of-Life (EOL) notifications for DDR4 ICs in specific market segments. This marks the beginning of a gradual reduction in DDR4 memory chip production, but also effects the availability of eMMC Flash chips.

Due to this development and the current volatility in the DDR and eMMC market, we are unable to provide accurate pricing or lead times at this time. We are awaiting allocation updates from our suppliers and expect more clarity later this year. This can easily cause a ripple effect that will increase lead time and prices in other product lines, not only memories/storage devices, but also embedded processors and analogue components.

Transition from DDR4 to DDR5

Transition from DDR4 to DDR5

The transition from DDR4 to DDR5 is expected to impact supply chains, pricing, and delivery schedules. To ensure continued performance and long-term support, we strongly recommend upgrading to DDR5 memory solutions. DDR5 offers:

  • Higher data transfer speeds
  • Greater storage capacity
  • Improved energy efficiency

These advantages make DDR5 ideal for demanding applications and future-proof system designs.

We appreciate your understanding and continued partnership during this transition. For further assistance or to explore DDR5 upgrade options, please contact our sales team.
